#CultureTravChat Update & Thank you!

Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 6.45.08 AMIf you’re new to the blog… welcome! On this blog, I take in-depth look at cultural experiences during travel. I’ve explored body language and culture, how to step out of comfort zones while traveling, how humor gets lost in translation, and stereotypes.

Two weeks ago, I started the #CultureTravChat (read more in the link on what inspired me). I can’t thank my travel friends enough for their support and for sharing wonderful advice during the chat. This chat wouldn’t exist without you and your personal travel/cultural experiences.

  • Quick Announcement: I’m changing the time of #CultureTravChat. The new chat time will be 2-3 pm ET (NYC time) every Thursday.
  • Next week’s topic will be: Social Customs. Questions will be posted a few days ahead of time on the blog.

Foreign Language Chat Recap:

Thank you to those who participated in another fun #CultureTravChat this week about Foreign Languages. It was interesting to hear how different people cope with language barriers and how they study a foreign language (complete immersion seems to be a very popular method).
